Sigma Healthcare Staffing is currently looking for Ultrasound Tech to work onsite at contracted facilities in Fayetteville.

Shift: Full Time, All shifts available.
Position Summary:
  • The Ultrasound Technologist II is fully competent to perform all diagnostic procedures for the Diagnosis of specific diseases or conditions

Job Responsibilities:
  • Fully competent to perform all procedures within the Ultrasound Section of the Radiology Department
  • Fully competent in the technical operations of all equipment in this section..
  • Assesses the patient, reviews the orders/ chart as appropriate confirming the reason for exam. Ensures pertinent patient symptoms and clinical history are documented and a signed consent form is present if needed.
  • Prepares the patient for the procedure, answers any patient's questions and effectively communicates with the supervising radiologist for special instructions and/or questions regarding exam protocol.
  • Responsible for the prompt completion and accurate recording of exam begin and end time in the Radiology Information System (RIS) to ensure timely access to study by the radiologist.
  • Provides a safe environment to include, but not limited to, infection control guidelines, universal precautions and patient safety goals.
  • Monitors the timeliness of exams and quality of care based on established department goals, striving for continuous quality improvement. Performs QA of exams (correct order, accurate/complete image annotation, correct laterality), prior to sending to radiologist for interpretation.
  • Actively participates in the clinical education of student sonographers.
  • Actively participates in department's Performance Improvement Projects.
QUALIFICATIONS :

The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:

EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING :
  • Graduate of an AMA approved Sonography program with current registration by ARRT (Sonography) or ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
  • Level II sonographer must hold ARDMS certification in two different areas.
  • Maintain current AHA CPR certification through Cape Fear Valley Training and Development department.
WORK EXPERIENCE :
  • 1 year minimal experience required.

  • Provides care based on the patient's developmental needs.
  • Experienced in the delivery of effective patient care and interacts effectively with patients of all ages.
