Inventory Control Specialist

Job Title: Inventory Control Specialist Job Description This Inventory Control & Returns Specialist will ensure the effective tracking and placement of materials, process returns, and collaborate closely with various departments to maintain the gold standard of inventory management. Responsibilities Ensure every piece of material is accurately coded and located in primary, secondary, or tertiary placements. Inventory that is not properly allocated is deemed as lost and is unacceptable. Place materials in bins to optimize picking. This strategy should prioritize speed and reduce errors, especially by keeping similar items that could be confused apart. Conduct regular cycle counts of warehouse inventory aligned with management's objectives. Thoroughly investigate any shortages or overages, performing root cause analyses and proposing adjustments to reduce inventory discrepancies. Scrutinize, reconcile, and process all inbound customer returns. For non-stock return materials, ensure they are sent back to the suppliers. Always keep the company's business systems updated to reflect accurate statuses of each return. Engage actively with sales teams, operations management, customers in the field, and the central returns management and inventory control departments to ensure smooth operations. Essential Skills A minimum of 3 years in distribution, logistics, inventory control, or a related field. Possess strong analytical skills, ensuring decisions are data-driven. Effective communicator, able to bridge gaps between various departments and stakeholders. Ability to handle pressure and navigate the ever-evolving dynamics of inventory management. Quick thinking and adept problem-solving capabilities are essential. Ensures that all activities uphold the highest standards of safety. Proficient in using relevant inventory management software and tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with the company will be advantageous. Overtime is available and will be communicated prior. Pay increases are available and dependent on performance, attendance and upon conversion.
