Responsibilities Independently apply knowledge of structural principles and practices in various assignments. Prepare engineering calculations with the aid of computer software, spreadsheets, and hand calculation. Create structural design plans and details in Revit. Coordinate with architects, owners, and other engineering disciplines. Design and review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance. Analyze and interpret data, formulate, and solve problems. Provide direction to structural engineers, technicians, and administrative staff. Review shop drawings and respond to RFI's. Perform field investigations/site visits, as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering with a Structural emphasis from an ABET accredited university; Master's Degree is preferred. Experience in Commercial, Science & Technology, Educational, and Municipal type building projects is preferred. Minimum of 6 years of related structural engineering experience required. PE license is required. Possess a basic/intermediate skill level and understanding of Revit with a willingness to progress towards an advanced level. Ability to learn and apply technical skills and knowledge. Demonstrate extensive knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, principles, and practices in steel, concrete, wood, and masonry. Ability to effectively perform as a key team member and role model to junior engineers. Demonstrate advanced oral/written communication skills. Possess a basic/intermediate understanding of structural engineering software such as RISA, RAM, TEKLA, TEDDS, etc. with a willingness to learn and become proficient. Must be able to perform as a project engineer with limited guidance as well as interact and collaborate with multiple members of a design team. Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
