Quality Control Inspector Description

Our client in the machining sector, specializing in aerospace, defense, and commercial industries, is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join their team in Indianapolis, IN. This role involves performing first piece, in-process, and final inspections to ensure all products meet strict quality standards. You will be on your feet most of the day, sampling each machine's output and using various manual measuring tools, including height stands, calipers, micrometers, and indicators. To qualify, candidates should be well versed in blueprint reading and GD&T and can configure parts on surface plates for inspection. Familiarity with AS9100 standards is essential. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with extensive hands-on inspection experience to contribute to high-quality manufacturing processes.

Quality Control Inspector Responsibilities

• Perform first piece, in-process, and final inspections
• Ensure dimensional accuracy and visual appearance of parts
• Sample each machine's output, checking parts for correctness
• Use height stands, calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other tools
• Configure parts on surface plates for inspection
• Maintain accurate inspection records
• Collaborate with machinists to resolve quality issues
• Adhere to AS9100 standards

Quality Control Inspector Qualifications

• 4+ years of direct industry specific experience required
• Well versed in blueprint reading and GD&T required
• Experience with manufacturing machining and inspection required
• Experience with measuring tools (calipers, height stands, indicators, etc.) required
• Familiarity with AS9100 standards required
• Ability to stand for long periods required
