Swedencare North America is hiring a Controller to join their growing team. This person will be responsible for all aspects of financial management across multiple vertically integrated companies in their home office in Oldsmar, Florida. This person will serve as a subject matter expert and identify ways to optimize the controls over all accounting transactions to mitigate risk and facilitate the company's growth.

The ideal candidate will be flexible to work in a deadline driven environment, have a customer focused mindset, be ready to take ownership of multiple projects, prioritize multiple goals simultaneously, be analytical, and strive for improvements, both with financial value as well as in internal controls and other effectiveness/efficiency projects. This position will be highly visible within the company and will require a high level of professionalism and objectivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to ensure compliance with the Swedencare Group Finance and Reporting Handbook
  • Produce and review periodic financial reports (Monthly, Quarterly, Annually) to international parent company; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Produce financial reports and analysis for local management team.
  • Provides oversight and guidance for all intercompany transactions; tracks and reconciles expenses for internal Management fee bill backs across entities on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis as applicable.
  • Recommend benchmarks and KPI's that will be used to measure and track/improve the company's performance.
  • Prepare the annual budget and forecasts.
  • Provides financial analysis with emphasis on period over period trending (M, Q, A), as well as comparison to corresponding period last year and current budget, organic growth, and cash forecasting.
  • Works with external auditors and coordinates submission of PBC requests across entities.
  • Works with external tax accountants and provides needed information for year-end tax provisions and mid-year tax filings.
  • Responsible for impairment review and testing on long lived Fixed Assets per FASB.
  • Ensures compliance with internally submitted local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, with special focus on sales/use tax.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related experience.
  • Previous Controller experience required, including oversight of AP/AR and month end closing process.
  • Strong inventory controls background.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) credential is a plus.
