Oracle Data Warehouse Architect - OCI Expert (2-Year+ Consulting Assignment)

re you ready to embark on a transformative journey in data architecture? We seek a seasoned Oracle Data Warehouse Architect with expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and a specialization in Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW). Join us for an exciting 2-year+ consulting assignment where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our data ecosystem.

Work Environment
  • Be willing and able to work out of the Caltrans Sacramento, CA office 2-3 days per week.
  • Be willing and able to work 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. PT.
Key Responsibilities
  • Performs data warehouse administration for the Enterprise Data Warehouse in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse Environment
  • Reviews existing architecture and provides solution recommendations where applicable.
  • Develops, tests, and implements scripts/jobs for data Extract Transform and Load (ETL) from data source(s) to target(s) in the data warehouse using ODI
  • Visualizes and designs the enterprise data management framework: specifies processes used to plan, acquire, maintain, use, archive, retrieve, control, and purge data
  • Develops physical data model and/or works with data modeller to develop a physical data model
  • Develops Testing Approach, Plan, Scripts and Documentation of Results
  • Develops and maintains a data catalog for the enterprise data warehouse
  • Develops and maintains a data dictionary for the enterprise data warehouse
  • Develops Requirements Specifications
  • Develops Design Specifications
  • Evaluates and monitors databases to resolve performance issues
  • Monitors the EDW and responds to incidents
  • Provides documentation to support the Kimball Dimensional Data Modeling Framework
  • Mentors and educates team members on best practices and industry standards
Architectural Leadership
  • Design and implement cutting-edge data warehouse solutions leveraging Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse on OCI.
  • Lead the development of scalable and efficient data models, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data architecture strategies aligned with business objectives.
OCI Expertise
  • Harness the power of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to create robust and scalable data warehouse solutions.
  • Utilize OCI services for data integration, storage, and processing, ensuring seamless and secure operations.
  • Stay abreast of OCI advancements and incorporate emerging technologies into the data warehouse architecture.
Autonomous Data Warehouse Mastery
  • Drive the implementation and optimization of Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse features, ensuring maximum automation and efficiency.
  • Fine-tune performance parameters, monitor resource utilization and implement proactive measures for continuous improvement.
Collaborative Problem Solving
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and other IT teams to understand data requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex data-related issues, providing expertise and guidance to ensure the stability and reliability of the data warehouse.
Best Practices and Standards
  • Establish and enforce data warehouse best practices, standards, and guidelines to maintain high data quality and integrity.
  • Conduct regular assessments of the data architecture to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an Oracle Data Warehouse Architect focusing on OCI and Autonomous Data Warehouse.
  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services related to data management and analytics.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and data modelling.
  • Experience with performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting in a data warehouse environment.
  • Develops, tests, and implements scripts/jobs for data Extract Transform and Load (ETL) from data source(s) to target(s) in the data warehouse using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams.
  • Mandatory - Staff resource must have a minimum of seven (7) years I of verifiable experience in database design and warehouse architecture supportive of key duties/responsibilities identified above.

  • Oracle Autonomous Database Cloud 2021 Certified Specialist
  • Oracle Machine Learning using Autonomous Database 2021 Certified Specialist
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure 2021 Certified Architect Professional
  • Oracle Data Integrator 12c Certified Implementation Specialist
