Position Summary

The Student - Office Aide for Women's Soccer is responsible for providing support to the Women's Soccer Department by providing customer service to students and employees, performing data entry, processing/completing office-related duties specific to the department, completing set-up and break down duties, cleaning and maintaining equipment used for videotaping home and away soccer games.

Note: Cochise College requires a post offer, pre-employment background screening of all employees.

Position is open until filled with applications reviewed upon receipt and may close at any time.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities: Within the scope of college policies and procedures, this position:

Greets students/other visitors in a pleasant and courteous manner

Performs clerical duties such as filing, typing, scanning, photocopying, answering phones, and taking messages

Keeps video and other assigned areas and equipment neat and orderly

Observes and enforces all rules and regulations of the assigned facility; communicates accurate information to assigned supervisor in a timely manner; seeks assistance from supervisor as needed

Multi-tasks, organizes, prioritizes, and follows multiple projects through to completion with attention to detail

Attends all soccer games

Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor

General Expectations: Employees are expected to accomplish assigned duties in an efficient, effective and competent manner and to strive for improvement and excellence in all work performed. Additionally, employees must understand the comprehensive role of the community college and cooperate and work harmoniously with students, faculty and staff, and the public. Employees will follow all college policies, rules, regulations and guidelines as they relate to this position.

Education and Experience; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education and Experience Requirements:
Enrollment at Cochise College with a minimum of six credits per semester and three credits in the summer
Possess and maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or higher
Students attending Cochise College on an F-1 Visa require full-time enrollment with a minimum of 12 credits per semester and six credits in the summer

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures
Knowledge of the proper operation of and the ability to use personal computers and standard office equipment
Ability to operate video equipment
Ability to handle inquiries and problems efficiently and direct to the proper staff member
Ability to report for work on time and notify the appropriate individual in advance in unable to work
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other department staff, faculty, students and the public

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Work Environment: Work is primarily performed under general supervision in a variety of climactic conditions. May require working evenings and weekends

Physical Requirements: Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate.

Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting only occasionally, walking and standing are required regularly, incumbents may be required to kneel, crouch/squat, crawl, climb, stoop, turn/twist, balance, reach, or handle

Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability and creative problem solving skills are important
