How you make a difference

As a Dietitian, you will be responsible for overseeing the dietary program and menu planning, ensuring that patients' nutritional needs are met. You will document patients' nutritional information and represent the department in clinical care committee meetings, advocating for the importance of proper nutrition in patient care. Additionally, you will assist management as necessary, utilizing your expertise to improve patient outcomes and ensure the success of the nutritional program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' nutritional needs and provide nutritional counseling to patients and their families, as necessary.
  • Prepare diet cards and input dietary and nutritional information, maintaining accurate records of patients' nutritional history.
  • Approve and assist in designing cycle menus while being culturally sensitive to patients' needs and treating them as individuals.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of care and treatment needs of patients of different ages and perform quarterly sanitation audits of all serving areas.
  • Attend committee meetings, participate in the Clinical Care Committee, assist with policy updates and in-services for dietary staff.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education
  • Associate's degree from an accredited collage with a major in food and nutrition is required. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in foods and nutrition is preferred.
Experience
  • Above average interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels within the facility, in addition to a variety of outside customers with varying interests. Good writing skills. Must be able to thoroughly and effectively document all work performed in the position. Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
Licenses/Certifications
  • Should be eligible to take the registration exam for dieticians/diet technicians.
