Position Summary:

The Behavioral Health Consultant is an integral part of the primary care treatment team. She/He identifies, triages and manages primary care patients with medical and behavioral health problems. This includes providing skill training through psycho-education and patient education strategies and developing specific behavioral/therapeutic treatment plans for patients. The Integrated Behavioral Health Consultant also assists primary health care providers in recognizing and treating mental disorders and psychosocial problems, detecting "at risk" patients, and assessing the clinical status of patients referred by the primary care provider.

Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology or PhD/PsyD in Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Licensed in California as an LCSW, Psychologist, LMFT, LPCC.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience providing psychotherapy (CBT based models preferred) with children, adults and adolescents.
  • Computer proficiency, particularly with Electronic Health/Medical Record systems and the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
