EQUANS is looking for a Commercial Manager to join our team in Seaham on a permanentbasis. This is a fulltimerole working Monday to Friday. On offer is acompetitivesalaryand benefits package.This role will be responsible for the Refurbishment part of the business, experience in the sector is essential. Effectively manage the commercial resources of a project throughout the project lifecycle in order to ensure success of the project objectives, maximise profit and ensure the success of the Equans Business Plan.Encourage best practice and continuous improvement in the planning, provision and monitoring of commercial support and assurance to the Project Manager/the project delivery team/Equans.Pursue own professional development and provide support and guidance to promote the development of other commercial staff. What will you deliver? Project Delivery Demonstrate a high level of commercial and technical knowledge and work as part of the Project Delivery Team to meet business and customer objectives.Identify business risks in projects early and ensure risk management, risk registers, and contingencies are in place.Ensure efficient procurement of materials and services, maintaining compliance with best practices, legal requirements, and company policies.Promote and measure continuous improvement with the Supply Chain to enhance profitability, cost efficiency, quality, and learning. Commercial Establish and apply Equans commercial processes and procedures, aiming for best practices and continuous improvement to maximize profits.Maximize cash flow through timely preparation of valuations, invoices, and receipt of payments.Prepare and settle final accounts promptly, including handling variations, claims, and disputes.Produce accurate and timely project financial forecasts and accounts for business management.Protect Equanss position through a thorough understanding of contractual, commercial, insurance, and legal processes. Business Development Collaborate with regional teams to develop a comprehensive plan for securing new opportunities and extending the life of secured projects.Identify key business drivers for customers and determine the optimal commercial approach for mutual value.Engage in negotiations with customers and consultants to achieve win/win outcomes and maintain strong relationships for potential new business opportunities. People Management Ensure project teams have strong commercial understanding and motivation, leading by example.Promote knowledge sharing and learning, fostering a team capable of innovative thinking.Take responsibility for commercial resource management and plan changes proactively. Develop individuals to maximize their potential within the business, and delegate commercial responsibilities appropriately.What can we offer you? Qualifications Degree in a Relevant Field: A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.Professional Certification: Membership in professional bodies such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
