Shift: 2:45pm - 11:15pm, Tuesday - Saturday

Emory Medical Laboratory's mission is to transform health and healing by providing high quality, cost-effective, innovative laboratory services which enhance patient health. We're seeking a Histocompatibility Technologist who will have the opportunity to work in one of the best ASHI-Accredited HLA Labs in the country with world-renown Medical Directors as part of a leading teaching hospital. This role will provide exposure to complex situations and will require analytical and problem-solving skills. This individual:

  • Performs routine and moderately complex HLA procedures to support transplant programs as well as other related studies.
  • Properly uses laboratory equipment such as computers, centrifuges, balances, microscopes, spectrophotometers, auto-analyzers, cell counters.
  • Performs established procedures and equipment tests to ensure valid test results.
  • Prepares reagents as needed.
  • Evaluates the validity of test results.
  • Refers results to appropriate individual(s) for review.
  • Assists in gathering data to monitor quality improvement standards.
  • Documents corrective actions taken for unexpected/abnormal test results.
  • Performs analysis of patient specimens using standard and complex HLA laboratory test procedures.
  • May perform venipuncture to obtain blood specimen.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in biological, chemical, or physical science.
  • Completion of CHT (ABHI) registry examination OR MT (AMT) within 18 months after one year of HLA experience.
