Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Burn/Wound Care Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days Guaranteed Hours: 36.00 Experience: Minimum 1 year of nursing experience License: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider Must-Have: - ADN or ASN from an accredited school of Nursing Job Description: - Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. - Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting. - Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs of self and attend education programs based on identified needs. - Use patient education materials relevant to the patient population and assess the readiness to learn of the patient, family, and caregivers. - Identify expected patient outcomes and seek guidance for revising the care plan when needed. - Engage in discussions with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate patient care and promote continuity of care. - Demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex problems, including aspects like physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs. - Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required and utilize organizational and nursing standards, policies, and procedures in care delivery. - Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs and consult with appropriate resources for complex care issues. - Develop goals for professional growth, achieve objectives within the identified timeframe, and participate in intra/interdepartmental collaboration. - Engage in unit goals and performance improvement activities while promoting cost-effective care. - Contribute to a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment for all. - Recognize data from complex situations to determine priorities for care, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs. - Develop relationships with families to advocate for the patient and their own needs. - Collaborate with the patient and family to prepare or update the care plan, making use of available multidisciplinary resources. - Address cultural and ethnic issues in planning patient care, prioritizing tasks for patients with complex problems. - Engage with journal studies or articles applicable to practice and bring ideas and questions to the staff for assessment. - Open to training for a Charge role if needed.(Note: This job requires working in a location's specific unit providing burn and wound care to adult patients, with a patient ratio of 1:5. It involves collaboration in care from the acute through rehabilitative phases.)
