Role:

Under the Director of Marketing & Communications' supervision, and following established policies and procedures, performs a variety of duties as required to provide assistance and support to the Sr. Graphic Designer and Marketing Department. Performs duties and responsibilities in accordance with The Apple Way principles of Team Up, Serve With Purpose, Challenge Yourself and Own It. Remains cognizant of and adheres to credit union policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing & Communications, Sr. Graphic Design Specialist and Marketing management.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Create original content for various channels and platforms as assigned.
  • Create original graphic design for marketing and communications projects while remaining within brand identity parameters such as ad campaigns, newsletters, etc.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Sr. Graphic Designer on creative projects.
  • Evolve, revise or redevelop creative deliverables in response to feedback from the design team or internal stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple projects in a timely manner and according to budget.
  • Recommend creative solutions to projects.
  • Assist the team with day-to-day production requests, including image selection and reformatting creative for various channels.
  • Balance multiple projects successfully to meet deadlines and collaborate across multiple stakeholders with different priorities.
  • Present design work at various stages to Marketing and stakeholders for review and final approval.
  • Programming interactive content for internal newsletter.
  • Design organizational collateral materials to include, but not limited to: AppleFCU.org graphics (promotional and non-promotional), electronic media (digital banking properties, in-branch displays, ATMs) and online/digital ads; maintain a consistent voice and look throughout all properties, ensure brand standards are followed.
  • Work collaboratively with the marketing team.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to understand marketing objectives and creative needs.
  • Support Marketing team members with creation of graphic design elements.
  • Maintain and organize the library of Apple FCU stock photo/illustrative images; identify keywords, categories, etc.
  • Responsible for maintenance and creation of forms used across Apple FCU by various departments
  • Stay current on industry trends, particularly in the print, digital and social spaces; share ideas and recommendations for innovating new templates and design approaches.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing & Communications, Sr. Graphic Design Specialist and/or the Vice President of Marketing and Communications.
  • Track individual projects via marketing project management software.
  • Keep project files organized and readily available for viewing by the team.
  • Adhere to organizations' brand identity standards and guidelines, while helping to inform the evolution and extension of the visual identity.
  • Work closely with Marketing team members to keep all projects on track

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: Three to five years of similar or related experience

Education: Bachelor's degree in graphic design or design-related discipline

Interpersonal Skills:

Must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal communication and design skills. Proven ability to form and execute on creative concepts (both written and visual), as well as provide creative and editorial direction to vendors, colleagues, etc. Ability to work independently, with personal initiative and high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Able to interpret and translate complex information in a visual manner.

Other Skills:

Applicant must demonstrate proficiency in Desktop Publishing/Graphic Design (Adobe Creative Cloud required), Microsoft Office, and designing for both print and digital media. The ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously and an innovative, creative, energetic personality area must.

Physical Requirements: The ability to lift 25 lbs. and utilize standard office equipment including, but not limited to, PC, copier, telephone, etc.

Work Environment: Ability to function in a financial institution, hybrid work environment. Local travel to promotional events or branches may be required.
