UCT is looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer IIIto join us in Austin, TX

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Requires a broad knowledge of Manufacturing Practices, Assembly Prints, Bill of Materials to be able to create Manufacturing ready documentation such as S.O.E.’s (Sequence of Events) and Assembly Process Workflow.
  • Provides technical direction and on-the-job training to production staff.
  • Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates Manufacturing Engineer portion of the system build.
  • Prepares and/or modifies work instructions, BOM structures and training curriculum.
  • Ensures proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects.
  • Requires contact with Customers, vendor’s representatives. Attends and participates in Customer meetings.
  • Confers with engineers, technicians, customers, and others to discuss best practices in effort to streamline build processes and procedures.
  • Inspects completed systems; partner with Manufacturing and Quality organizations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
  • Supports project production efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Investigates customer or internal issues, determine nature and extent of problem, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assists in cost estimations and developing of capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.
  • Evaluates and processes Engineering Change Orders.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Attendance is an essential duty of this position.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Lean Manufacturing Principles, Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor capital equipment.
  • Knowledge of electronic Work Instruction software is a plus (i.e. Sequence).
  • ERP System Software
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite, emphasis in Excel.
  • Prior experience leading small teams to achieve project success.
  • Good Interpersonal skills: ability to work alone or in team environment.
Educational/Certification Requirement:
  • Bachelor of Science/ Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Manufacturing or related field preferred with 2 years of experience in related manufacturing/ production position; or
  • Associate of Arts (AA) in a technical field with more than 5 years of manufacturing experience.
Experience Requirement:

Work Experience:
  • 5+ years related experience in high-technology manufacturing, preferably in semiconductor capital equipment or related industry
  • Working knowledge of quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment

Environmental Exposure:
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment where applicable.
  • Subject to noise levels.
  • Subject to hazards including electrical current, moving mechanical parts, exposure to chemicals and debris.
  • May involve exposure to moderate noise levels from printers, faxes, computer etc.
Overnight Travel:
  • Work may require out of town travel depending upon assignment (training and meeting).
