School Based Clinician

Responsibilities:
- Provide intake assessments, individual, marital, family, group therapy, crisis assessment/screening and psychological testing if qualified to clients seeking services from South Central Mental Health.
- Provide education and consultation services to the community partners on an “as needed” basis.
- Attend meetings and collaborate with peers and other team members regarding consumer’s treatment.
- Maintain clinical records including treatment plan and necessary treatment protocols routinely and in a timely manner. All records will be subject to utilization review.
- Sustain a high level of professional competence through continuing education and clinical supervision.
- Maintain all professional credentialing requirements.
- Adhere to the standards of ethics for mental health professionals.
- Follow all policies and procedures of the agency.
- Helping school personnel identify appropriate referrals to the program.
- Triage with the school personnel to prioritize treatment interventions for identified students.
- Working with the school personnel to connect with the families or child welfare contacts to get appropriate consent to treat.
- Administer scales or tests to detect areas of concern with depression, anxiety, self-harm or other areas as identified.
- Making referrals to other treatment modalities as appropriate
- Communicating with school personnel who are involved in the student’s life to help them understand the diagnosis, family circumstance and suggested interventions as is appropriate.
- Gathering outcome data to monitor the effectiveness of the program.
- Coordinating with the treatment team to identify ways for them to support the student and family.
- Provide other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Physical, Educational, and Personal Requirements:
Physical: Hear, speak and write English clearly. Vision adequate to observe clients and make chart entries.
Education: Defined by license type; see staff credentials.
Personal: Detail oriented, good interpersonal skills, good communication skills, and good problem solving skills.
Other: Must have a valid driver’s license and meet agency insurance guidelines as this position requires ability to drive to agency centers and local community partner sites in order to meet the needs of consumers and the community. Pass a criminal background and drivers license check to the satisfaction of SCMH
