OrthoCarolina is seeking a qualified professional to join our team as a Patient Services Specialist in our Shelby practice location

Under general supervision and according to prescribed procedures, the Patient Services Specialist greets patients, prepares forms, collects, verifies and enters patient information into Centricity necessary for the timely and accurate processing of patient claims.

  • Prepares paper work necessary for the patient visit.
  • Answers incoming phone calls and directs calls, makes appointments, performs cashier duties as directed including posting of charges.
  • Collection of co-payments/co-insurance and balances due.
  • Follows the process for release of medical information and FMLA/disability forms completion as requested.

Education required:
  • High school graduate
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience required:
  • Prefer minimum of one year experience in medical clinic setting.
  • Good customer and computer skills and working knowledge of insurance.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
