We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Manager to join our team. The Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire logistics process and efficient delivery of goods and services. Requirements

  • Safe and efficient utilization of Allied Alloys logistics fleet
  • Manage and develop company's drivers
  • Efficient dispatch of Allied Alloys drivers per customer requests
  • Maintain inventory of deployable assets such as roll off containers, forklift bins, and hoppers
  • Schedule needed delivery appointments and coordinate outbound OTR loads accordingly
  • Generate daily Dispatch schedule and Inbound receiving schedule
  • Monitor national freight market to capitalize on best third-party rates
  • Effectively coordinate barge shipments through collaboration with operations, freight contractors, and barge loading facility management
  • Review daily vehicle inspection forms and coordinate repairs with appropriate departments and contractors
  • Schedule and coordinate truck/tractor/trailer preventive maintenance
  • Contract Over the Road and local trucking as needed, using management approved carriers
  • Obtain and negotiate local and domestic rates as needed
  • Periodic supplier visits with drivers
  • Schedule inbound material deliveries related to commodity purchasing, coordinating with AA operations
  • Support Export functions when necessary
  • Other transportation functions and projects as needed
  • Maintain Logistics/Transportation department's reports
  • Other clerical tasks as assigned, i.e. filing, copying, printing, scanning
  • Update Maintenance and Repair Log
  • Experience with operation of Commercial trucks and roll off systems required
Logistics/Transportation Department's Reports
  • Daily: Drivers' mileage; Update Maintenance and Repair Log; Update Maintenance and Repair Log.
  • Monthly: Accumulate Drivers' mileage; Average per mile and per pound transportation costs; Non-productive runs, i.e. dry runs (not currently being maintained).
  • As needed: Update AA-Drivers' dry run report; Update truck/tractor/trailer maintenance and repairs.


Salary Description

$65,000 to $75,000 per year
