Key Responsibilities:
  • Training Development: Design and develop training materials, including hands-on workshops, technical manuals, and instructional videos tailored for field technicians.
  • Training Delivery: Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions for field technicians on fiber optic installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Onboarding: Assist with onboarding new field technicians, ensuring they are fully trained on Ezee Fiber's processes, safety standards, and customer service expectations.
  • Field Support: Provide field coaching and support to technicians, assessing performance, identifying areas for improvement, and offering solutions to challenges.
  • Certification Preparation: Prepare technicians for relevant industry certifications (e.g., FOA, ETA) and company-specific training programs.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Evaluate trainee performance through practical and written assessments, providing constructive feedback to enhance learning and skill acquisition.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Field Operations, Engineering, and Customer Support teams to ensure that training aligns with the latest technologies, processes, and customer needs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, new tools, and techniques to refine and enhance training programs.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all training adheres to industry safety standards and that technicians are educated on workplace safety protocols.
  • Reporting: Track and report on the progress of technicians, maintaining training records and certifications.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fiber optic installation, maintenance, or field service, with at least 1-2 years in a training or leadership role.
  • Education: Certification in Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) or similar is required; additional certifications in FOA, ETA, or related fields are preferred.
  • Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of fiber optic systems, including splicing, installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
    • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to create effective training materials and presentations.
    • Hands-on experience with fiber optic tools and testing equipment.
    • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to fiber optic installations.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple training sessions simultaneously.
    • Tech-savvy with experience in virtual training platforms and LMS systems.
    • Microsoft Suite experience, Canva
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in the telecommunications industry.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Familiarity with network management systems and fiber optic mapping software.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and conduct hands-on training sessions.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to travel to different job sites as needed.
