Position: Trainer-InstructorIn this role, you'll empower election workers by providing essential training on the equipment, processes, and procedures needed to ensure a smooth voting experience at Harris County Vote Centers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging training: Lead interactive, high-energy sessions for 50-200 election judges and clerks, both in-person and online (Zoom).
  • Classroom setup and management: Organize materials, manage classes, and ensure everything runs smoothly from start to finish.
  • Provide critical support: Be the go-to resource for election judges, answering questions and troubleshooting issues during voting periods.
  • Expert knowledge: Master the election procedures, equipment, and curriculum to confidently teach and assist others.
  • Hands-on leadership: Support election workers in Vote Centers, reinforcing training and troubleshooting any challenges that arise.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Strong presentation skills: Ability to engage large groups and deliver information in a clear, dynamic way.
  • Tech-savvy: Experience with MS Office and Zoom, along with comfort navigating various technologies.
  • Adaptable and flexible: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.
  • Problem-solving mindset: Confident in resolving issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Customer service focus: Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Physical ability to lift 35 pounds and handle classroom setup for 3-4 hour sessions.
  • A passion for community involvement and supporting important initiatives.
