Child Abuse Trained Pediatrician

A hospital in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a full-time BC/BE Child Abuse Pediatrician to join its Child Protection Program.
The Child Protection Program, established in 2004, provides comprehensive medical evaluations for suspected victims of abuse in the greater Philadelphia area. The current team includes two board-certified child abuse pediatricians, a dedicated social worker, a nurse, and support staff. Each year, the program conducts hundreds of medical evaluations for suspected physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect. These evaluations take place in inpatient settings, outpatient clinics, and the city's regional Child Advocacy Center. The team collaborates closely with local investigators to ensure timely communication of medical findings for each case. The program is also dedicated to educating medical trainees, including students, residents, and fellows. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in program development and education. The role includes an academic appointment at a major university's College of Medicine, the hospital's academic affiliate.

The facility, in partnership with a renowned university, is a 188-bed institution providing exceptional care to children in the Greater Philadelphia area and surrounding counties. The hospital features over 220 pediatric experts and a wide range of specialties, including Cardiology, ENT, Gastroenterology, Oncology, and Orthopedics. It is home to the only Pediatric Burn Center between New York City and Baltimore and is one of only three Level I Pediatric Trauma Centers in Pennsylvania. Qualifications:
- BC/BE in Child Abuse Pediatrics (American Board of Pediatrics)
- BC in Pediatrics (American Board of Pediatrics)
- Graduate of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric residency
- Graduate of an ACGME-accredited Child Abuse Pediatric Fellowship
- Unrestricted PA medical license at the time of employment
- Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification for the Commonwealth of PA
- Board Certified / Board Eligible in Child Abuse Pediatrics (Separate Fellowship)
- Board Certified in Pediatrics
