Quality Technician

CERTIFICATIONS, RECEIVING
- Review product certifications for release acceptance or discrepancy resolution
- Receive purchased material in system
- Apply and release quality hold status of product as applicable.
- Scan certifications and testing reports into the operating system
- Process and administrate requests for certification updates
- Conduct inspection of product when required or requested
- Inspect and resolve questionable material issues involving product integrity
- Assist with inspection layout, set-up as needed
- Understand and apply measuring techniques with internal operating procedure and equipment
- Identify and quarantine nonconforming material
- Enter/Maintain vendor rejection reports
- Process and provide follow up for supplier rejections
- Maintain corrective/preventative action system
- Schedule QIR/Training meetings with both the Production and Sales Departments as needed
- Schedule meetings, as needed, to resolve non-conforming and process issues
- Conduct follow-up actions regarding QIR/Customer Complaints issues until matter is resolved
- Issue Return/Scrap Authorizations
- Investigate and resolve non-conformities
- Assist with customer quality system requests and approvals
- Assist with the quality orientation for new employees
- Support sales with certification and compliance requests
- Support operations and production with order and material technical needs
- Perform periodic specification revision check for updates
EQUIPMENT
- Oversee the inspection and measuring of test equipment
- Maintain identification of the testing equipment and documentation providing traceability and calibration frequency
- Initiate and maintain the ongoing assessment and approval of subcontractors
- Perform periodic audits of suppliers and subcontractors
- Oversees and coordinates management of testing using outside approved resource
- Responsible for administration of supplier release program
- Assist as needed with compliance audits
- Maintain approvals and certifications
- Assist with internal, customer and regulatory audits
- Maintain a full understanding of United Performance Metals' Quality Manual, Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions: How they relate to AMS, ASTM, AISI, AS9100 and ISO-9001 Requirements
- Continued education and training of metals applications, industry requirements, and customer focus activities
- General housekeeping in accordance with the quality expectations
- Assist as needed with internal audits

Education and/or Experience
College degree or coursework and at least 3 years related experience and/or training
Aerospace experience is a must.
