Overall Job Summary

This position entails leading and developing a team of hourly team members, setting daily production goals, and monitoring performance within the assigned department, with a particular focus on safety and quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Minimum 5%)

  • Provide visible leadership to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
  • Establish daily production goals and monitor intraday performance.
  • Participate in root cause analysis to identify problems and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Identify, coach, and develop team members through training and performance reviews.
  • Observe team member activities to recommend areas of opportunity.
  • Coordinate and monitor production standards and develop programs to improve operational throughout.
  • Assist in training team members on distribution processes and equipment.
  • Lead or serve on cross-functional teams focused on process improvement and leadership development.

Required Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years in a multi-shift distribution center. Education: Some college preferred, or combination of education and experience.

Preferred knowledge, skills, or abilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of 15 to 60 team members.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence decisions.
  • Working knowledge of logistics processes, safety, and quality.
  • Analytical skills for problem identification and resolution.
  • Flexibility and willingness to change direction as business needs dictate.
  • Ability to work any shift and department as required, and work additional hours as needed.

Working Conditions

  • Duties include frequent standing, walking, bending, and movement of equipment.
  • Potential exposure to hazardous products and warehouse conditions.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move merchandise weighing up to 50-75 pounds.
  • Frequently stand, bend, squat, and climb ladders for up to 12 hours.
  • Operate equipment related to job duties efficiently and safely.
  • Safely access all areas of the distribution center, including stairs.
  • Read, write, and count accurately to complete all documentation.
