Nurse Practitioner in Pediatric Gastroenterology

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) plays a crucial role in delivering advanced patient care, utilizing their specialized training and experience. You will be responsible for assessing and managing patients, ordering diagnostic tests, and implementing effective care plans. Collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers is key to achieving optimal patient outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Utilize your knowledge of anatomy, psychology, pharmacology, and medical terminology to provide high-quality care.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and physical examinations, including collecting clinical data and performing minor procedures.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of injuries, diseases, treatment alternatives, and preventive health measures.
- Ensure accurate patient coding for billing, maintain detailed medical records, and manage medical supplies efficiently.
- Guide the clinical team during shifts, ensuring smooth patient flow and effective triage.
- Mentor and support new staff and physician assistant students.
- Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (required).
- Proficient in computerized medical recordkeeping and billing systems.
- Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Must hold a Nurse Practitioner license upon hire (required).
- Certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Basic Life Support (BCLS) upon hire (required).
