The Medical Assistant works to assist clinicians in providing health care at clinic locations. A Medical Assistant serves the patient and all members of the health care team by gathering and maintaining the necessary medical information in a cheerful, friendly, personable manner. This role provides quality patient care and helps to establish rapport between the clinician and patient. The Associate Medical Assistant works to assist clinicians in providing health care at clinic locations. A Medical Assistant serves the patient and all members of the health care team by gathering and maintaining the necessary medical information in a cheerful, friendly, personable manner. This role provides quality patient care and helps to establish rapport between the clinician and patient. Primary Responsibilities: Maintain and stock all exam rooms Clean and maintain all instruments Prepare patients for examination Take patient history, visual acuity, and glaucoma tests Take dictation and document medicals while physician is examining patient Collect and calculate diagnostic data: K readings, refraction, visual feeds, PAM (Potential Acuity Meter) Assist physician in minor office surgery Return and answer patient phone calls Maintains strictest confidentiality Abides by the policies and procedures of the clinical department as outlined in the Personnel manual OSHA/Handwashing You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Years of post-high school education can be substituted/is equivalent to years of experience. Required Qualifications: 1+ years of healthcare office experience Experience in a medical office setting Experience with PC and Microsoft office Preferred Qualifications: Medical Assistant certification 1+ years of experience working as a Medical Assistant performing front and clinical back-office duties Experience working with EPIC EMR software New York Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $16.00 to $23.94 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
