The Insurance Agency Manager will direct the operations of the BayPort Insurance, LLC’s insurance programs. The role involves the development and implementation of short and long-term goals for the insurance program, consideration of the carriers the agency is appointed with to maximize opportunities and leadership of the agency’s employees. The Insurance Agency Manager will explore, develop, and launch new programs and services, ensuring the agency remains compliant and competitive in a changing legal, regulatory, economic, and technological environment. The role also includes developing and executing strategic marketing and sales plans to drive revenue and program penetration.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Direct and oversee the day-to-day operations of the BayPort Insurance LLC’s
  • Implement and monitor initiatives to achieve short and long-term goals for the insurance program.
  • Explore, develop, and launch new insurance programs and services.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the carriers represented.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the other departments within BayPort Credit Union.
  • Develop short and long-term goals for the overall program and individual insurance products.
  • Develop and execute an effective sales process around working with referral partners to identify, contact, and follow through with prospective clients.
  • Interview prospective clients to obtain information necessary to customize insurance programs to satisfy their individual and household needs.
  • Stay current on changes within the legal, regulatory, economic, competitive, and technology environments that may affect the Insurance Agency.
  • Other duties as requested.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Finance, or related field; or equivalent, relevant work experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in insurance management or related role; to include strategic planning, program development, and operations management.
  • Ability to adhere to BayPort Credit Union’s Core Values: Integrity, Be Bold, Compassion, Diversity, Innovation, It’s On Me, and One Team.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance products, services, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and insurance management software/tracking systems.
