UES is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Field Technician/ Asbestos Inspector to join our Building Sciences Team based out of our office in north Houston. This position is primarily field based but does include in-office task management duties and report writing. The primary responsibilities of this position would be asbestos sampling, with additional duties supporting other service needs of the company. Candidate must have a willingness to learn new skills. Responsibilities: Asbestos sampling Asbestos air monitoring, if licensed Groundwater sampling Assisting with field activities associated with groundwater and soil remediation systems Lead sampling, if licensed Mold sampling, if licensed Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent is required Post secondary education is considered an asset Asbestos Inspector License is required Asbestos Project Manager/Air Monitoring Technician License is preferred Lead Inspector License is preferred Mold Assessment Technician License is preferred OSHA training is preferred Required Skills/Abilities/Physical Requirements: Legal authorization to work in the US Valid driver’s license to operate a vehicle in the US and a clean driving record Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds Willingness and ability to travel and work in various outdoor site conditions and project locations (90% field work, approx. 20% overnight travel) Ability to pass a workplace physical, drug screening, and background check Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, clients, company personnel, and regulatory personnel Proficient in Microsoft Office Team: Environmental Department Work Type: Full-Time Location Type: onsite
