Position We are seeking an experienced product design engineer interested in supporting the development of highly advanced wearable computer systems being developed under a multi-year project funded by the National Institutes of Health. Enthusiasm and the ability to participate in a small team to solve interesting and complex problems is a must. This is a full-time, permanent position. Skills and Experience The ideal candidate will have a background in industrial engineering and design, electrical engineering and/or mechatronics. In this position you will design ultra-compact, low power systems and devices containing sensor arrays, activity tracking and voice processing capabilities. Enthusiasm and the ability to participate in a small-team environment in order to solve interesting and complex problems is a must. Required At least 4 years of industry experience in consumer product development. At least 3 years experience with 3D design software. At least 2 years experience with additive manufacturing technology. Self-starter motivated to design well engineered components and systems. Ability to demonstrate entrepreneurial thinking, innovation, and real-world problem solving. Ability to work hands-on with systems and components in an R&D setting. Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work both individually and as a team member. A minimum of a B.S. in Design, Industrial Design, Design Engineering or equivalent. Highly Desirable· Industry experience in designing and developing wearable computer systems. Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new concepts. Experience developing bio-medical hardware/software systems. Working towards M.S. or PhD. in Design, Industrial Design, Design Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent.
