Head of Revenue Accounting (Director or Sr. Director)
Our client, a leading no-code app platform company, is seeking an experienced Head of Revenue Accounting. This role involves leading revenue accounting and operations, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SOX requirements. The position offers flexibility, with a preference for candidates to be in the office twice a week, but remote candidates on the West Coast are also welcome.
Responsibilities:
- Lead revenue accounting, billing, and accounts receivable/collection teams.
- Develop and implement scalable processes for revenue recognition and order-to-cash.
- Serve as accounting lead on deal desk, partnering with Legal, Sales, and Strategic Finance.
- Establish revenue recognition policies for new business models and products.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with SOX, U.S. GAAP, and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage month-end and quarter-end close processes for revenue-related matters.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of accounting experience, including public company and Big 4 experience.
- CPA with strong knowledge of ASC 606, focusing on SaaS/Software industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience with accounting systems, Salesforce, and Workday Financial (preferred).
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Compensation:
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $250K - $350K per year.
