LightFeather is currently seeking an experienced and motivated AWS Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead our AWS cloud practice. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and growing our AWS practice, leading the technical delivery of projects, managing client relationships, and guiding a team of talented cloud engineers and architects. You will play a pivotal role in crafting cloud strategies, developing solutions, and driving AWS adoption across our client base.
This is a full time, hybrid position requiring candidates to be local to the DC Metro area.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the AWS practice by defining goals, growth strategies, and service offerings, aligning them with business objectives.
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs, develop tailored solutions, and establish trusted advisory relationships.
- Oversee the design, deployment, and management of cloud-based solutions on AWS, ensuring high quality and client satisfaction.
- Recruit, mentor, and guide a team of AWS architects, engineers, and consultants, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
- Define best practices for AWS solutions architecture, optimization, and cost management, aligning with clients' business goals.
- Manage team members, project scopes, and timelines, ensuring successful delivery and measurable outcomes.
- Maintain a deep understanding of AWS technologies, certifications, and trends to keep our offerings competitive and relevant.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- US Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain clearance at the Public Trust level or above. Active or prior clearance is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in AWS services.
- Proven experience in managing and growing cloud practices or similar technology teams.
- Deep expertise in AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM, and CloudFormation.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring a team.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into AWS solutions.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build client trust and effectively collaborate with team members.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a proactive and adaptable mindset.
Preferred:
- AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
