The Tax Manager is responsible for managing federal, state, and indirect tax matters

Essential Functions

  • Management of Federal and State Income and franchise tax matters.
  • Management of Sales Tax, Property Tax, VAT tax functions.
  • Manage the preparation of Foreign Tax Returns by outside service providers.
  • Review indirect tax workpapers prepared by Avalara/staff.
  • Prepare estimated tax payments.
  • Develop and prepare automated Federal and State Income Tax workpapers for outside service providers.
  • Prepare and run federal and state tax depreciation calculations in CCH FAM.
  • R&D Credit- Interact with service providers.
  • Assist with all tax audits.
  • Ability to respond to tax notices and other inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Assist Tax Director in Tax planning.
  • Strong interaction with all key personnel
  • Assist management on special projects as required.
  • Communicate consistently on all activities to appropriate individuals (internal & external).
  • Maintain ongoing communication and adhere to all Companywide policies to eliminate and/or reduce exposure to liability.
  • Special projects or work as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Accounting Degree and minimum 7 -10 years of relevant experience, required
  • CPA Designation and Graduate or master’s degree in accounting or Tax, preferred
  • Microsoft Office software, required.
  • Proficient using E10 by Epicor, CDK, AvaTax by Avalara, CCH Tax Library, CCH FAM
  • Ability to work with multiple ERP’s.
  • Strong organizational and management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-task environment
