Scottsdale, United States Axosoft Full time

The Company:

GitKraken makes a suite of legendary Git tools and services that help millions of developers be more productive - and teams collaborate more closely - wherever they are and wherever they code. We are on a mission to make Git easier, safer, and more powerful across multiple surfaces and environments. Our Git tools are designed to enable developers to streamline workflows and maximize collaboration. We are a profitable, sustainably growing tech company that values talent, drive, and the ability to make an impact. Join us in powering 30M+ global developers from 100K+ organizations

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Product UX Designer to join our product team and help shape the future of our tools and services. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to explore new ideas, improve existing products, and refine our design systems. You will provide intuitive, delightful experiences to our user base - and your work will be seen daily by millions of developers around the world. Our team values collaboration, innovation, and a user-centered design approach to deliver exceptional user experiences.

We are committed to having an inclusive and authentic work environment where unique perspectives, skills, and backgrounds are celebrated. We work hard to foster diversity in our workplace and encourage people from all backgrounds to apply. Even if you don't meet 100% of the requirements, don't let self-filtering and imposter syndrome get in the way of a great fit. We would love to hear from you

What You'll Do:

  • Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and design peers.
  • Help to refine our visual design strategy, and contribute to the development of internal design systems.
  • Design mockups, interactive prototypes, and user flows.
  • Define and strategize ways to improve our design processes: from creation and optimization of templates, Figma libraries, and other tools to help communicate and deliver a richer User Experience.
  • Research developer problems by organizing and running user interviews, reviewing customer feedback, and researching industry trends and competition to gain a deeper understanding of the goals, pain points, and expectations of our users.
What You'll Bring:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design - preferably with product design experience.
  • An impressive portfolio that illustrates your design proficiency from concept to completion.
  • Deep understanding of interaction design patterns and systems, a critical eye for typography and layout, ability to use UX writing effectively, and strong user-centered design methods and techniques.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility practices (WCAG, WAI).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate a problem and proposed solution.
  • Prior experience designing and launching powerful, intuitive products, preferably for developers or a technical audience.
  • Passion for iteration while giving and receiving constructive feedback.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma (preferred), InVision, and Sketch.
  • Experience with HTML & CSS, and an understanding of Git version control.
  • Experience contributing to or working with design systems.
Bonus Points:
  • Hands-on experience in front-end development.
  • Design experience specifically for developer tools or products.

How You'll Be Rewarded:

Excellence - Competitive compensation with annual performance-based pay increases

Trust - Flexible Paid-Time-Off Policy (behaves like Unlimited PTO)

Travel - Company paid domestic trip after your 1-year anniversary & an international trip every 5 years

Balance - Paid company holidays with flexibility for additional holidays

Equipment - Top-of-line technology to maximize your productivity

Parent life - Generous paid parental leave

Health - Health, dental, and vision insurance with competitive employer cost-sharing

Culture - Great Place to Work Certified

Headquarters - Modern, high-tech offices designed to maximize productivity in a hybrid environment

Growth - Paid career and personal development, audiobooks, and mentorship

Future - 401(k) retirement plan plus company matching

Location:

GitKraken is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona and while we would like to have candidates be local to the Scottsdale office, we understand that talent and drive are much more important than location. We will consider strong candidates from anywhere in the US who apply for this role.

Equal Employment Opportunity Statement:

At GitKraken, we believe that diversity among our teammates is critical to our success as a company. GitKraken evaluates all employees and job applicants without regard to race, color, religion, gender (including pregnancy, gender expression, or gender identity), national origin, age, disability status, or any other legally protected class.
