Production Assembly Lead (Service & Install)

Position Summary:
The Production Assembly Lead (Service and Install) is responsible for leading a team in assembling, testing, servicing, and installing products. This role will involve overseeing production workflows, coordinating on-site customer installations, and ensuring all systems meet quality standards and performance requirements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in mechanical assembly, a strong understanding of electrical systems, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee day-to-day assembly operations, ensuring production schedules and deadlines are met.
* Lead and mentor a team of technicians and assembly staff.
* Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and install systems, including mechanical, electrical, and software components.
* Conduct final quality checks to ensure systems comply with company standards.
* Coordinate with customers and internal teams for on-site system installations and maintenance.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies.
* Provide training to team members on assembly procedures and safety protocols.
* Troubleshoot technical issues during installation and recommend solutions to resolve problems efficiently.
* Document assembly and service procedures, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
* Assist the Production Manager in optimizing production workflows and identifying process improvements.
* Maintain inventory levels of tools, parts, and supplies required for assembly and service tasks.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or GED; Technical or Associate degree preferred.
* 3+ years of experience in production assembly, technical service, or a related field.
* Prior leadership or team lead experience within a manufacturing or technical assembly environment.
* Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems; ability to read schematics and technical drawings.
* Experience with tools and equipment for assembly, including hand tools, power tools, and testing instruments.
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work on-site at customer locations, and travel as needed.
* Proficiency with basic computer systems and software applications.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills:
* Experience in the mailing or sorting equipment industry.
* Knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) or automated systems.
* Prior experience with on-site customer installations.

Work Environment:
* Work will be performed in a production environment and at customer sites.
* Occasional travel for installations and servicing is required.
* Must be comfortable working with tools, standing for extended periods, and performing physical tasks.
