Job Description:

The Quality Inspector (Raw Materials) will be responsible for the detailed reviews of raw material inspection at incoming as well as assisting in the management of the calibration system. Additional duties within the quality organization, as required. Position both reviews and reports performance data to management, with expectation of accuracy. May interface with customer quality representatives, regulatory agencies, or suppliers. Must be able to read and interpret manufacturing drawings to ensure accuracy of completed build.

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for performing inspections, tests and/or audits of purchased parts, units, materials, equipment, and quality control programs to specifications.
  • Primary designee for processing raw material non-conformance items in system (TipQA).
  • Works directly with Supplier Quality representatives to provide required defect detail to vendors.
  • Interprets drawings, diagrams, specifications and lists to approve or reject units.
  • Maintains support documentation and performs sampling and testing of incoming components, raw materials, and build of assemblies.
  • Ensures raw materials meet company and test standards.
  • Determines or assists in determining methods and procedures necessary for inspection.
  • Able to read Calipers and general metrology equipment.
  • Fully proficient support individual contributor.
  • Works under limited supervision.
  • May be a resource to other employees in areas of expertise.
  • Assignments are moderately difficult, requiring some judgment.
  • Less detailed instructions are provided, and minimal peer review is required.
  • Communicates with contacts typically within and outside the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement.
  • Work may be structured within identified boundaries and procedures.
  • Follows established processes to complete tasks.
  • Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations. Resolves most issues.
  • Works to achieve operational targets within job area which has moderate impact on the overall achievement of results for the team.
  • Work is of moderate scope, typically on larger, task-related activities.
  • Able to read drawings and understand standard drawing symbols.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, with focus on Excel.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • Requires minimal job knowledge and skills typically obtained through a combination of education and experience.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent with zero (0) to three (3) years of prior quality/inspection experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
