Job Summary: The Medical/Surgical Unit Manager is responsible for leading the daily function in the Medical/Surgical Unit setting with demonstrated expertise in nursing within the unit. The position provides direction and leadership to ensure great patient care, can improve population health within an efficient cost structure while improving the work life of providers and staff. Principle responsibilities include: oversight of the daily operations by managing resources and creating an environment of staff accountability in order to deliver a high quality patient outcome.
The Manager serves as a role model promoting competent patient care and compliance with quality improvement programs. This position manages nurse's schedules, staff schedules, and organizational needs employing communication and effective collaboration with staff, physicians, and other nursing and non-nursing leaders to provide optimal patient care and flow.
Job Requirements:
Current Registered Nurse License in the state of Missouri.
BLS, ACLS, PALS or ability to obtain after being hired.
Ability to work effectively in collaboration with others.
Effective communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Previous management/supervisor experience preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
