Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to establish goals and strategies for meeting patient discharge or continuing care needs.
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments, initiate and maintain current nursing care plans, and identify patient learning needs to provide individualized and comprehensive teaching.
- Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with state practice and Bon Secours Mercy Health policies and procedures.
- Serve as a point of contact for patient care coordination throughout hospital departments and act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
- Develop and implement cost-effective measures into practice and model effective stewardship of available resources.
- Current RN license in the state of practice or covered by compact.
- BLS Basic Life Support certification (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care).
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (preferred).
- Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification RN-BC (Registered Nurse - Board Certified) (preferred).
- CCRN Critical Care Registered Nurse certification (preferred).
- PCCN Progressive Care Certified Nurse certification (preferred).
- CMSRN Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse certification (preferred).
- National Institute of Health (NIH) Stroke Certification (preferred).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. May be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse. May be required to use physical restraints. May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights. May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids. May be exposed to human blood and other potentially infectious materials. May have periods of constant interruptions. Prolonged periods of working alone.
