Position Overview:

The vehicle engineering team collaborates with all R&D areas and Navistar factories to advance the transformation of sustainable mobility. Our teams mission is to uphold vehicle integrity & orchestrate DVP execution. We are responsible for managing program level validation activities, including vehicle and sub-system builds. We lead problem solving of cross-functional engineering issues that arise during new product development. This position requires a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software systems as well as a process driven problem-solving methodology. We are responsible for understanding the end goal of the vehicle and features to develop the most optimized validation plan and for ensuring uptime of the validation vehicle fleet to secure on-time test plan execution.

Responsibilities:
  • Acts as the Verification & Logistics Manager for new product programs
  • Integrates, co-manages and executes program level DVP including estimation of development resources
  • Confirms fleet size, specifies vehicle configurations & plans logistics
  • Maintains vehicle pedigree throughout program
  • Ensures vehicle uptime for on-time test execution
  • Coordinate vehicle retrofits for test readiness
  • Leads problem solving of cross-functional engineering issues
  • Manages validation planning including vehicle and sub-system builds
  • Responsible for supporting multiple projects and leading technical and analytical discussions with cross functional teams
  • Responsible for understanding the end goal of the vehicle and features to develop the most optimized validation plan
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science

OR

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and will obtain degree prior to first day of employment
Additional Requirements:
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software systems as well as a process driven problem-solving methodology
  • Basic knowledge of Vehicle Systems, interdependencies, and their impact upon functional performance
  • Basic understanding of truck applications and associated product requirements
  • Problem solving skills

  • Predictive analysis or test skills
  • Proven leadership skills demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects and drive to completion
  • Excellent oral, written, and communication skills
