School Age Director:

The YMCA has (Kindergarten - 5th Grade) locations that provide Before and After School care and Summer care in Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo, Harwood, and Horace.

The School Age Learning Center Director is responsible for the daily operations of the School Age Learning Center program:

  • Visits assigned School Age sites a minimum of 1 day per week during programming times.
  • Communicates regularly and clearly with program parents, staff and school personnel - written and
    oral, formally and informally.
  • Supervises assigned School Age Site Coordinators. Assists the School Age Site Coordinators with the day-today operations of the sites, ensuring that the program is stimulating, developmentally appropriate, high quality, and orderly.
  • Maintains and monitors program enrollment. Assures sites are meeting budgeted numbers (ex: percentage full).
  • Manages the program's annual budget and purchases program supplies, equipment, and materials.
  • Assists in planning and conducting School Age and YMCA events. Is the committee head for special events such as Lights on Afterschool or SALC Olympics.
  • Ensures programs are operating in conformity to state and/or county licensing and agency regulations.
School Age Director Pay & Benefits:
  • $54,050+ (Pay is dependent on education and experience.)
  • Full Time - Exempt

  • Health, Dental & Vision Insurance:
    • The cost is shared by the YMCA and the employee. Participation may begin after 30 days of Full Time Employment. See the benefits link for rates on our website.
  • Paid Time Off - Full Time employees will begin accruing PTO immediately upon their Full Time employment start date.
    • The YMCA believes that time away from work is beneficial to your health and welfare. PTO includes all vacation, sick and holiday time combined into one account. You will start accruing PTO immediately upon hire and you may begin using it immediately.
    • The amount that you accrue is based on the amount of hours that you worked in that pay period, and the amount accrued is based on your years of service. For someone working 40 hours per week, the accrual rate is as follows: 0-2 years of employment: 6.48 hours per pay period (or 21 days per year); 2-5 years of employment: 8 hours per pay period (or 26 days per year); 5+ years of employment: 9.52 hours per pay period (or 31 days per year).
  • 12% Retirement Plan - The YMCA will automatically contribute an additional 12% of the eligible employees monthly income into their YMCA Retirement Plan when the following requirements are met:

Learning Center Site Director Qualifications:

At least 21 years old AND
•A Bachelor's Degree in a related field with at least 24 semester credits in Early Childhood Education
or Child Development AND
•2 years of paid experience in a child care program or similar setting AND
•2 years of paid supervisory experience

And must also complete:
•Within 30 days of hire: CPR/FA Certification for Adult, Child and Pediatrics
•Within 90 days of hire: 15 hours of basic childcare training through Child Care Aware
