Job Details:

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our team in the Distribution industry. This role is a permanent position that will oversee our financial operations, ensuring the accuracy of our financial reports, and managing our team of accountants. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong understanding of the manufacturing industry and the ability to manage multiple financial tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
Manage and supervise the daily operations of the accounting department including: month and end-year process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, trust account statement reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity etc.
Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
Meet financial accounting objectives
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
Coordinate and complete annual audits
Provide recommendations for improving the efficiency of the accounting operations
Implement and monitor the company's financial policies
Manage and reconcile inventory accounting to ensure accurate reporting
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, calculating payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2+ years of experience in a supervisory role (managing at least 1 person) within an accounting department, preferably in the distribution industry
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced skills in Excel
Experience with Epicor or similar ERP systems
Strong understanding of payroll management, financial reporting, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory accounting
Proven ability to manage and process large volumes of data with accuracy
Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks concurrently
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Solid understanding of accounting principles and regulations
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, on multiple projects
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
