Lewis & Ellis, Inc., a premier nationwide actuarial & insurance consulting firm, in partnership with acquired risk management consulting firm(s), is growing, and L&E is seeking a talented professionals. We are currently seeking a professional consultant to (a) take over the existing clients of acquired risk management firms but also (b) develop and grow our risk management practice across the US market. We are looking for someone to lead, sell, and provide fee-basis consulting services to firm clients.

About the risk management practice: Managing risk renewals, insurance analysis projects, captives, cell or rent-a-captives, deductible plans, quota share plans, and retrospective rating plans, including several industries including, but not limited to, banking & financial services, real estate, manufacturing, life sciences, and high-technology. The primary revenue model is fee-only as opposed to commissions.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience Requirements:

  • Knowledge of insurance policies terms and conditions, particularly within the property casualty space
  • Strong desire to learn and grow a risk management practice
  • Some insurance and/or risk management experience
  • Knowledge of complex risk financing strategies
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, project and organizational skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to task
  • Strong project management skills
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Preferred Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college, accredited by an accreditation organization that has been reviewed and approved by the US Department of Education or accredited by the appropriate governmental agency if the degree was obtained outside the United States.

Language Skills

Ability to read/write reports, business correspondence, technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of prospects and clients as well as managers and other employees within the company.

Mathematical Skills

Strong mathematical aptitude and strong analytical skills.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
