The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a high degree of attention to detail. The right individual for this role must enjoy working in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment where accuracy is a must. This position reports to the Accounting Manager. Essential Functions/Job Duties: Analyze information to prepare and enter journal entries into the financial system; Reconcile balance sheet accounts; Actively participate in the period-close process by performing reviews of financial statements and collaborating with accounting and non-accounting team members as needed; Prepare sales and use tax returns; Provide accounting support to and collaborate with the theatre operations departments; Pursue efficiencies and process improvements; Exhibit resourcefulness and ability to solve problems independently; Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures; Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager. *The above list reflects the general details necessary to describe the principal and essential functions of the position and shall not be construed as the only duties that may be assigned for the position. Job Requirements: Prior experience in accounting-related job or internship, preferred; Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financial System a plus; Possess strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; Possess strong analytical skills and comprehension and the ability to communicate the results of the analysis performed; Able to work both collaboratively with a team and in an individual environment; Willing and motivated to learn new skills, tasks, and software systems to meet the changing demands of the industry; Able to manage and complete multiple tasks; Must have the ability to work under pressure, while maintaining organization and attention to detail; Must have the ability to meet strict deadlines and work and perform tasks with minimum supervision; Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality.
