The Learning & Development Director will lead the strategy, design, and execution of all learning and development initiatives across the organization. This role is pivotal in enhancing the skills, knowledge, and performance of employees, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and industry standards.

Description

  • Strategic Planning:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy that aligns with the company's objectives and industry trends.
    • Conduct needs assessments to identify training priorities and gaps in skills and knowledge.
  • Program Design & Delivery:

    • Design, develop, and deliver a variety of training programs, including leadership development, technical skills training, safety protocols, and compliance courses.
    • Select and manage external training vendors and consultants as needed.
  • Leadership & Management:

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of L&D professionals.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership and department heads to ensure training programs meet business needs.
  • Curriculum Development:

    • Create engaging, effective, and innovative learning content using various instructional design methodologies.
    • Utilize e-learning platforms and other technologies to deliver training.
  • Performance Measurement:

    • Establish metrics and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics.
    • Report on training outcomes to senior management and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Budget Management:

    • Develop and manage the L&D budget, ensuring cost-effective training solutions.
    • Monitor and control training expenses, ensuring alignment with the allocated budget.
  • Compliance & Safety Training:

    • Ensure all training programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
    • Lead the development and delivery of safety training programs to maintain high safety standards on construction sites.
  • Talent Development:

    • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
    • Implement career development initiatives and succession planning to support employee growth and retention.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to promote the value of L&D initiatives.
    • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to promote and reinforce training objectives.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in learning and development, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in the construction industry or similar environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of learning theories, instructional design, and adult learning principles.
  • Proficiency in using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning tools.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess needs and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CPLP (Certified Professional in Learning and Performance), SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources), or SHRM-SCP (SHRM Senior Certified Professional) are a plus.
