Learning & Dev. Director

The Director of Learning and Development will be responsible for assessing training needs, designing and delivering training programs, and evaluating their effectiveness. They will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that learning initiatives align with organizational goals and contribute to employee development and performance improvement.
Primary Functions:
Training Needs Analysis
•Conduct thorough assessments to identify skill gaps and training needs within the organization
•Analyze performance data and feedback to determine priority areas for training interventions
•Collaborate with the department heads and HR Business Partners to understand business objectives and align training initiatives accordingly
•Source content as needed to meet business needs
Design and Development:
•Develop engaging and effective learning materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training sessions, manuals, and multimedia presentations
•Utilize instructional design principles and adult learning theories to create impactful learning experiences
•Incorporate innovative learning technologies and methods to enhance training delivery and engagement
Training Delivery:
•Facilitate training sessions for employees at all levels, both in-person and virtually
•Ensure training sessions are interactive, informative, and tailored to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of participants
•Provide coaching and support to trainers and subject matter experts involved in delivering training content
Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:
•Establish metrics and evaluation criteria to measure the effectiveness of training programs
•Collect feedback from participants and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and make necessary adjustments to training content and delivery methods
•Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in learning and development to enhance program effectiveness and relevance
•Implement best practices, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop strategies to achieve excellence
Learning Management System (LMS) Administration:
•Oversee the organization's LMS, including content creation, management, user administration, and reporting
•Ensure the LMS is user friendly, up-to-date, and aligned with the organizational learning objectives
•Provide technical support and training to users on LMS functionality and features
•Generate reports to assess training completion and trends as needed
Leadership:
•Create a compelling vision for the learning and development team
•Effectively lead the learning and development team through clear objectives, KPIs and ongoing follow through that aligns with the goals of the organization
•Create excitement within the organization for training, while taking target audience and usability into consideration
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
•Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
•Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and measure training impact
•Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, , and the administrative practices related to those factors.
•Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
•Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree in organizational development, training and development, business administration, human resources, or related field required (Master's degree preferred)
•Minimum 5 years of proven experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and training facilitation, preferably in a healthcare setting
•Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading a learning and development team
•Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design models
•Proficiency in learning technologies and tools including learning management systems, and virtual training platforms
•Proven leadership experience, with the ability to effectively manage a team and drive results
•Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
•Experience with training vendors, learning management systems and e-learning authoring tools
•Ability to create creative training techniques for learners of all types
Physical Demands - General Activities
•Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
•Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
