This construction company is seeking a Director of Learning and Development to join their HR leadership team. This pivotal role will be responsible for designing and implementing the learning and development strategy. The Director will lead a dedicated team of six professionals who will facilitate various training programs. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work remotely and onsite in Kansas City, and they are open to relocating the right candidate.

Description

  • Collaborate with the executive team to design and develop a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Lead and manage a team of six learning and development professionals, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Oversee the creation, implementation, and evaluation of training programs, ensuring they meet the needs of various departments and roles within the company.
  • Identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals, and consultation with line managers.
  • Drive a culture of continuous learning and development, promoting innovative training solutions and best practices.
  • Develop metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness and impact of training programs, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage the learning and development budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies to ensure training programs are relevant and effective.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that encourages professional growth and development.
  • Coordinate with external training vendors and consultants as needed.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in learning and development, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing successful training programs and strategies.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive decisions and measure success.
  • Willingness to relocate to Kansas City if not currently located in the area.
