Job Summary The Associate Manufacturing Engineer will work with the operations and design teams to plan and support the products being built in the production area(s). Utilizing lean manufacturing principles, this position is responsible for assisting with developing and implementing manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications, quality standards and safety regulations.Job Functions (Essential)
  1. Assists with developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods, including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment, in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.
  2. Work with organizational groups to develop and improve existing policies, procedures and controls through planning and implementation. Takes input from team members to provide accurate and appropriate feedback.
  3. Assists with designing and/or sourcing, testing and cost-justifying various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
  4. Maintain labor routings and operator worker allocations in SAP.
  5. Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards
  6. Evaluate and present recommendations to management for manpower, schedules, capacity, performance, and other key performance indicators.
  7. Write and implement work instructions, processes and procedures for production floor and the department.
  8. Provide technical assistance and support to manufacturing operations.
  9. Review processes and procedures in context of preserving and improving employee safety.
  10. Assists with preparing and maintaining detailed layouts of buildings, assembly areas, and equipment.
  11. Assists with training production staff on processes and procedures.
  12. Assists with coordinating manufacturing launch for new or revised products.
  13. Aid and assist in engineering change orders and production order changes.
  14. Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.
  15. Perform special projects as required

Qualifications:

Qualifications (Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)Required:
  1. Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering; or 4 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  2. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  3. Good project management skills
  4. Organization, planning and follow-up skills
  5. Oral and written communication skills
  6. Good analytical and complex problem-solving skills
  7. A continuous improvement mindset that is open to new approaches and embraces an agile working mode
  8. Good familiarity with drafting nomenclature and conventions
  9. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people
  10. Ability to negotiate
  11. Proficient with PC, MS Office Suite and MS Project
Preferred:
1. Some experience using manufacturing simulation and CAD software
2. OSHA certification/training
3. Experience with SAP
4. Basic knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems
