In order to support our expanding portfolio of design-build projects, we are seeking an ambitious and passionate Financial Controller. In this role, the candidate will support and collaborate closely with our Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Finance Departments. Duties: Design and analyze operational solutions for projects such as transportation optimization, cost containment, capacity enhancement and routing and shipment optimization; work with partners to maintain all necessary paperwork, approvals, and franchise lists required for timely clearing of containers; work with Haitian customs clearing authorities and agencies to understand any changes in the future for the customs clearance process and communicate those to Haiti leadership and US based BHI teams; supervise a full-time administrative clerk to complete procurement, customs clearing, travel reservations and accounting in-country; manage BHI Depot in Mirebalais, including Depot employees, tools and materials; manage all drivers and transportation logistics, including vehicles and heavy equipment repairs and maintenance; coordinate administrative logistics for obtaining travel documents and visas for Haitian team; supervise all logistics for incoming shipments to Haiti, including customs clearing and in-country delivery; oversee procurement and timely delivery of materials to all project sites in Haiti; approve and process all in country bank transactions in the accounting software. Position reports into Beverly, MA office; however, telecommuting from a home office is allowed. Requires 5-10% international travel to Haiti, to visit project sites. Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Logistics, or a related field plus 2 years of experience as a Logistics Engineer or any occupation/position/job title involving experience in international logistics, customs clearing and international vendor management. Must have 2 years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently): International customs clearing including preparation and maintenance of shipping documents Annual franchise application for tax exemption with international government(s) Managing international staff International in-country travel and logistics Development and maintenance of international vendor relationships and procurement Working with manual and automated accounting systems Microsoft office skills including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint BHI is committed to providing equal opportunity in the workplace.
