Definiti is a national retirement services company that helps clients manage and administer their retirement plans. We help clients define what's possible and what's next for their retirement plans.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Compliance Analyst is a non-client facing position that is responsible for performing compliance testing, contribution calculations, and Form 5500 reporting for assigned clients.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform annual compliance testing for assigned clients (402(g), 415(c), 410(b), ADP/ACP, Plan Limits, Top Heavy, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with DOL and IRS requirements
  • Ability to accurately interpret and apply plan document provisions
  • Preparation and filing of Form 5500 and related schedules
  • Prepare employer plan contribution calculations using all types of allocation methods
  • Prepare annual valuation and compliance reports for Clients
  • Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) determination and calculations
  • Have a working knowledge of custodian websites and processes
  • Preparation of custodian correction/update forms, as needed
  • Review of Retirement Plan Associate/Retirement Plan Consultant work within team environment
  • Support the retirement plan implementation, conversion, deconversion and termination processes
  • Represent the company on client calls and in client meetings, as needed
Requirements

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related field preferred: equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a financial services operations environment in retirement industry required
  • Experienced with ASC software required
  • Broad knowledge of the retirement plan industry, willingness to obtain ASPPA QKA designation or NIPA equivalent required
  • Understand plan documents (Basic Plan Document, Adoption Agreement, Summary Plan Description (SPD), Amendments, Summary of Material Modifications (SMM) and annual notices) required
  • Understand the annual lifecycle of plan (data collection, eligibility, compliance testing, trust accounting and Form 5500 preparation and filing) required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

  • Designate a quiet, and well-lit space free of as many distractions as possible
  • Be online and available to work during designated business hours in local time zone
  • Accustomed to using Microsoft Teams (or similar virtual-meeting applications) to meet with colleagues regularly on video and use the chat feature for quick communications. We utilize many Microsoft Teams features (such as Channels and file storage) for announcements, relevant conversations, and file sharing. Familiarity with Microsoft Teams is a plus
  • Accustomed with file-storage and file-sharing tools such as Microsoft SharePoint
