Job Description

Under the direction of the Manager of Finance, this position is responsible to prepare general ledger entries and maintaining the general ledger accounts within the accounting system for all companies while complying with all generally accepted accounting principles. In addition, the Senior Accountant is responsible for performing as the backup to the Accounts Receivable Coordinator for accounting and finance needs. The Senior Accountant will interact with other departments, clinic personnel, outside providers and other clients in a professional and friendly manner, to create and maintain a positive relationship with our internal and external customers.

1.1 Gather, Organize, and enter monthly journal entries into the general ledger system.

1.2 Complete end of month closing for all companies in compliance with scheduled due dates inclusive of financial statements for review by the Manager of Finance.

1.3 Examines journal entries to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.

1.4 Verifying, allocating, posting reconciling accounts payable and receivable.

1.5 Tracks key financial and statistical indicators for internal and external use.

1.6 Provides routine, special, and informational reports to the Manager of Finance.

1.7 Assists with special projects and financial analysis.

1.8 Maximizes the use of the accounting computerized system.

1.9 Prepares and reviews files that are sent monthly to CPA.

1.10 Prepares monthly journal entries for Payroll, AP, and AR for BFMC, CCPN, HPN-BFMC, and HPN-CCPN.

1.11 Produce monthly departmental expense reports for review by departmental heads.

1.12 Train and Assist AR staff, AP staff, and any other Finance staff as needed.

1.13 Prepare capitation reports for corporate review after capitation is complete.

1.14 Prepares reports for weekly for Cash Flow.

1.15 Prepares and submits quarterly annual use tax returns by deadlines.

1.16 Reconciles general ledger accounts, bank activity, and other subsidiary systems monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.

1.17 Prepares annual escheatment reports for reporting to the State.

1.18 Process capitation checks incompliance with scheduled dates but no later than the 20th day of each month.

1.19 Performs as the backup for claims check processing and printing.

1.20 Performs as the backup for check tracers and issues stop payment requests on outstanding checks.

1.21 Review and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

1.22 Complete Culture and Linguistics Training required annually.

1.23 Other duties as requested.

Requirements

8.1 Graduate from an accredited university or four-year college with a business degree, concentrating in accounting.

8.2 Experience in accounting and finance is required. Experience in health care is desirable.

8.3 Must have high level knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, SAGE experience is desired.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $36.40 and $42.83 however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
