The major thrust of the CNM role knows the patient, communication, and integration of care. In addition to the generalist preparation in nursing with enhanced clinical skills, the CNM is primarily setting based and is responsible for the patients and staff. In his or her day-to-day practice, the CNM develops an overall view of patients, families, and caregivers, and establishes strong partnerships with them to deliver optimal care. Membership in an appropriate professional nursing organization is recommended.Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 5 years thereafter.Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) will be required within 30 days of hire and every 2 years thereafter.ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC required of the Leader in this role.MercyOne Eastern Iowa provides exceptional, personalized care to Dubuque, Dyersville, Elkader, Clinton and surrounding areas providing more than 300 licensed beds.
