APEX Placement has partnered with a local plastics manufacturing company in Auburn Hills looking to add an HR Coordinator to their already amazing team

What your day will look like:

  • Manage hourly personnel files, ensuring accurate documentation and daily filing of paperwork for both active and terminated employees.
  • Support staffing efforts by conducting screening, interviews, and testing to fill open positions.
  • Handle new benefit enrollments with insurance carriers for hourly staff.
  • Maintain precise attendance records for all hourly associates.
  • Aid in the preparation of disciplinary actions when necessary, including data entry into the employee discipline log.
  • Assist in processing new hire and termination paperwork.
  • Facilitate hourly personnel transactions such as promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and password resets.
  • Organize and conduct new employee orientation sessions to promote alignment with company objectives.
  • Administer human resource functions to uphold compliance with policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
  • Address inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Update master payroll records with changes affecting net wages, such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments.
  • Foster positive employee relations through effective communication and timely resolution of concerns.
  • Provide off-shift coverage at least one day per week and as needed.
  • Monitor the HR Drop Box (Suggestion Box) bi-weekly, taking necessary actions with correspondence.
  • Assist in responding to initial Fact Finding unemployment claims.
  • Maintain the Training Matrix log by updating employee information and recording training records.
  • Handle hourly verification of employment requests for hourly employees.
  • Ensure adherence to internal and OSHA-required safety procedures.
  • Assist in planning employee events.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Development or related field preferred, or 2+ years of experience in HR and Payroll.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, along with proficiency in group presentations.
