Warwick, United States National Grid USA Full time

We’re looking for a passionate Senior Finance Business Partner to our newly established Strategic Infrastructure division - delivering £20bn of critical decarbonisation infrastructure over the coming decade. This pivotal position plays a crucial role in the UK's transition to net zero by being at the core of the Strategic Infrastructure program. As a rapidly growing organization facing significant scale and challenges, Strategic Infrastructure is in a constant state of expansion and transformation. The role encompasses critical projects that generate value and support the organisation's growth. With evolving priorities, this role offers a wide range of experiences and exposure. It presents a challenge that, for the ideal candidate, involves building and nurturing networks and influencing senior executives both within and outside the company. This role is based out of our Warwick office, and we’d hope to see you at least two days per week but you’re welcome to be in the office more often if that would work best for you. We’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you What You'll Do This is a broad leadership role, taking on emerging projects and activities critical to the set up and execution of the strategic infrastructure business. There are multiple large change activities occurring which require high quality finance leadership but do not sit naturally within a standard monthly finance process. Examples include: Managing the financials of the SI digital portfolio with a specific focus on value realisation. Designing and implementing improved end-to-end governance processes. Development of early-stage capital investment portfolios. Resolving and managing complex interactions with other business units. Developing quality business cases for change and innovation projects and helping directly to implement them and realise value. Building out and enhancing key controls to scale as the investment levels increase. Solving problems and joining the dots – this is a central role where you need to be a step ahead, using your networks to join the dots and solve problems. Finance can support on a range of problems, which can be outside of the traditional finance remit. The role holder will need to embrace this flexibility to the role and its responsibilities and take the opportunity to lead to solve problems. What You'll Have Fully qualified accountant (member of CIMA, ACCA, or ACA). Is energised by ambiguity and change, naturally curious and enjoys bringing definition to white space. Experience of working in a complex Finance Business Partnering role. Understanding of working within a government environment or similar complex organisation. Experience of working at senior leadership team level. Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills. Ability to think autonomously in the development of creative solutions to create financial value. Strong commercial thinking ability. Demonstrated ability to predict outcomes and anticipate where issues will arise with delivery or stakeholders. Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of colour are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At National Grid, we are committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace for everyone. So, if you’re excited about this role but your experience or qualifications don’t match the job description exactly, we encourage you to apply anyway. You might just be the right person for our growing business in this role or another one. What You'll Get Competitive Salary dependent on experience. Plus: Up to 20% Annual Bonus (based on personal and company performance). 28 days annual leave, plus eight statutory days in addition. A full electric company car or cash alternative. Private Medical Insurance. The option to buy additional or sell holiday days every year. A generous contributory pension scheme - we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. Financial support to help cover the cost of professional membership subscriptions. Life Insurance 10 x base salary. Access to benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.
